The life of a tree in a busy park is no walk in the park! Soil compacted by feet and tires does not allow for the effective transport of water and oxygen, and may even become too hard for roots to properly grow. Fortunately, that is why nature invented mulch. Join us as we help nature out by spreading mulch around grand oaks, protecting them for wildlife and future generations to enjoy. Due to COVID restrictions there will be limited space available and we will be closely following health order protocols. Please bring and wear your face mask, practice social distancing and bring your own water and snacks. We recommend participants dress in layers and bring a hat, and sunscreen. Heavy rain cancels but most programs are rain or shine. Accommodations will be made for visitors with disabilities upon advance request. Parking $7 or free for Regional Parks members.
