ABOUT ABOUT

Join us for a fun morning of history and exploration at Helen Putnam as we begin to unravel what the landscape looked like prior to becoming a park. Investigate the park’s cultural history during a scavenger hunt that will reveal what the landscape looked like prior to Spanish/Mexican settlements. Come out for a leisurely stroll and learn about the Spanish settlement, mixing of cultures and Sonoma County’s long-standing ranching roots. Registration is required for this free event. For more information, contact Kristina Stanton at [email protected].

Please bring your own water and snacks. We recommend participants dress in layers and bring a hat, and sunscreen. Most programs will happen rain or shine, but will be cancelled during heavy rains, heavy smoke, or extreme temperatures. Kayaking programs are weather and wind dependent. Accommodations will be made for visitors with disabilities upon advance request. Parking $7 or free for Regional Parks members.
