CALABAZAS BACKCOUNTRY EXPLORATION

By Sonoma County Parks (other events)

2 Dates Through Dec 04, 2021

ABOUT ABOUT

Are you interested in hiking and seeing beautiful views in Sonoma Valley? This is a 4-hour strenuous backcountry hike in the far reaches of this property, which was acquired by Sonoma County Ag + Open Space and transferred to Regional Parks for a future park. Not yet open to the public, this hike offers a sneak peek into the future park. You’ll learn human, cultural and natural history of the area and property. Please bring lunch and snacks, water, sunscreen and a sense of adventure. Registration is required for this free event. For more information, contact Katja Svendsen at [email protected].

Please bring your own water and snacks. We recommend participants dress in layers and bring a hat, and sunscreen. Most programs will happen rain or shine, but will be cancelled during heavy rains, heavy smoke, or extreme temperatures. Kayaking programs are weather and wind dependent. Accommodations will be made for visitors with disabilities upon advance request. Parking $7 or free for Regional Parks members.
