Who says dragons aren’t real? Explore the cattails and rushes of Spring Lake by kayak and discover the “dragons” (dragonflies) of Sonoma County. These pre-historic terrors of the sky have been around for more than 300 million years! We’ll discuss the history of dragonflies, what has allowed these insects to stick around and why they’re often found near the water. In the process, we’ll get in an invigorating paddle. Kayaks, paddles, safety gear and instruction provided.

Due to COVID restrictions there will be limited space available and we will be closely following health order protocols. Please bring and wear your face mask, practice social distancing and bring your own water and snacks. We recommend participants dress in layers and bring a hat, and sunscreen. Heavy rain cancels but most programs are rain or shine. Accommodations will be made for visitors with disabilities upon advance request. Parking $7 or free for Regional Parks members.
